Weekly Wishes #5

Last Week's Wishes
1.  Catch up on reading: Life is still crazy busy, so I'm still not reading as much as I would like, but I have carved out ten minutes before bed to read rather than using that time to check my phone for the millionth time.  I'm calling that a success.

2.  Be more present at work:  I'm definitely trying to pay more attention to what my kids' needs and focus in on whatever emotional stresses they might be under for the day.  Their tiny people with big ideas and it's fun to listen to them rather than talk at them sometimes.

3. Write: Signed up for that writing course Steven bought me for V-day.  It starts next week.  So excited.  Wewt!

This Week's Wishes
1.  Appreciate the positive:  I've found myself falling into that trap a lot lately where I focus on the negative and the bad and the stressful rather than the positive or the happy.  I want to make sure to take time every day to appreciate and enjoy life, rather than just going through the motions.

2.  Pack up for camping:  I've never been camping, but we're going to give it a try for my birthday.  It's a cheaper alternative to going to a hotel, and we'll be right on the beach.  Cross your fingers that it goes well, haha.

As always, I'll keep you updated on how I do this week.  By the way, weekly wishes is a link-up The Nectar Collective hosts each week where people write about their goals or challenges they want to achieve for the week.  Hence... weekly wishes!

  1. One of the things I need to work on is the positive side of things. I think for me it may be the weather that is just making everything worse but I need to take it upon myself to be more positive. Hope your weekly wishes come true!

  8. We all get into the negativity trap once in a while. I've been working on appreciating the positive for a while now and I'm slowly getting better at it. I'm sure you will, too! Just keep your head up! :) I hope that you have fun camping! I haven't been camping since I was a small kid, but it was wicked fun! Can't wait to read how it goes! :) Happy [belated/early?] birthday!

    1. So true. It's such a trap to get sucked into the negative, but I still fall for it from time to time. I hope we have fun too, but of course, I will post all about it next week. :) Have a good day!

  9. I think for me I've been trying to be grateful of everything I have. I may not have the best things, but they're perfect for me, and that's all that matters :) Good luck with camping! To be honest I'm not the biggest fan of camping, but I wish you have fun!
