5 (not so) guilty pleasures: Television

Is it still a guilty pleasure if you don't feel all that guilty about it?  Anyway, here are 5 of my most guiltiest pleasures on television.

1.  Revenge
Honestly, I love this show.  I love Emily and her fierceness and I love Victoria, and I love that the show allows women to be strong and to be the ones running things.  They're not the damsels in distress, because quite frankly, the men on the show aren't going to be able to save them, and that seems to suit the ladies just fine.  Their independent attitudes is awesome.  Also, the show's soap-opera feel does its job in keeping me watching.

2. Supernatural

Yep, I'm one of those people.  This show has a massive cult following and I'm totally guilty of being a part of it.  I've dropped the show several times for various reasons, but I keep coming back.  I don't know, it's cheesy and campy, but it's addicting at the same time.  And plus, the boys are nice to look at, so that helps. 

3.  Sons of Anarchy

Okay, I like this show for one reason and that reason is Charlie Hunnam.  I also like men toting guns on motorcycles and the gritty, raw feeling of the show.  It doesn't gloss over the nastier parts of the business, and I like that.  It's pretty well written too, in my opinion, though it does have its cheesy moments.

4. House Hunters

Okay, I do feel slightly guilty about this one.  Last summer, I was on break from school and I seriously watched marathon after marathon of this show.  I don't know, there's something about watching other people find their dream homes that tugs at my heartstrings and stirs up my wanderlust like no other.  For that reason, I particularly like House Hunters International.  In another life, I was a gypsy, I swear.

5.  American Horror Story

I really love shows of the slightly macabre, gruesome variety and this show fits that mold perfectly.  It's very tongue-in-cheek and very twisty.  I mean, most shows will throw you cliffhangers but this one will throw you the Grand Canyon.  With piranhas.  And fire breathing dragons.  The actors in this show are phenomenal too.  I'm kind of obsessed with Jessica Lange and Lily Rabe in all three of their incarnations throughout the three seasons of AHS.
