Five things of note:

1.  Dreams are really weird.  I've been having a lot lately where I dream about my entire next day in great detail and then when I wake up, I have to actually go through the day again.  And it sucks, especially on a Monday, because it's like having two Mondays.  In a row.  I also wind up having a lot of deju vu moments the next day, because I have to awkwardly figure out if something I'm remembering actually happened, or if it just happened in my dream.  Does this happen to you, or am I just weird.

2.  I had this realization earlier today.  I've been playing the comparison game lately, and every time I go to a fashion blog, I always find myself thinking, "holy bejeebus, she pulls off the most random things, like... rainboots and overalls."  Let's be honest... fashion bloggers are ballsy when it comes to putting together outfits.  Anyway, the point is, I started to feel like I'm not pretty enough or put together enough to post outfit posts, and then I changed my mind, because, like... fuck it, this is my blog, and if I wanna post pictures of myself doing stupid poses in my backyard wearing stuff I like and actually wear in real life, then that's what I'm going to do.

3.  I didn't watch the Oscars this week.  I didn't really want to, because watching award shows kind of makes me really anxious, because I find myself emotionally invested in certain actors or movies winning and it's just not good.  I only checked to see if Leo won, which... womp womp.  There's always next year, baby.  ...And the year after that, etc.

4.  My boyfriend started reading books.  This is like... monumental.  I don't think he's actually read a book from front to back since middle school and yet, every night, he picks up my kindle and starts reading my books.  He's currently working through Angelfall right now, which is kind of a funny first choice as a new reader because it's kind of Twilight-esque and not something I would think a mechanic would like.  And yet, here we are...

5.  I like Demi Lovato's new haircut.  So there.

Do you guys have any big plans for the weekend?

  1. Love the shoes :3 I have a pair just like those!
Ya poor Leo...hopefully they don't torture him with another 4 nominations before he finally gets an oscar

  2. Here from the HC FB group - couldn't resist the pretty dress and photos! Your blog is gorgeous, I'm following you stat.

I like your writing, too. I actually relate to a lot of the things you said! Especially the dreams stuff! Oh my god, every single thing you described has happened to me. And then some (I have a lot of terrible nightmares. Sometimes I wake up screaming from them, but those are the easiest to shake generally, and the dumbest).

I didn't watch the Oscars either, but I was disappointed Chiwetel Ejiofor didn't win. I've loved that dude since Love Actually and let's be real, Leo is going to make another two Oscar-bait movies next year... and the next... and the next. Black actors don't have that kind of career security.

Everything Demi Lovato does is magic, whatever. *looks up this new haircut* Okay, wow, she pulls it off. I... am not a fan of shaved type haircuts (I didn't even like it on Natalie Dormer, who's like, one of the hottest things on earth) but Demi looks awesome. Props to her!

Excuse me while I go follow you everywhere now. Nice to meet you! We're gonna be BEST FRIENDS. /creep

  3. I absolutely adore these pictures! And those shoes! Omg! I feel the same when it comes down to posting outfits on my blog and the other day I decided that I might just start. But then got insecure about it again until I read this "fuck it" and now I HAVE to do them haha! You are truly and inspiration, even if you sometimes feel insecure and start comparing yourself to others. Guaranteed there are girls (like me) who are doing the same thing when on your blog! :)

  4. #1: I'm right with you on dreaming. My dreams are SO real and vivid. I've often had to "clear up" something with someone because of a dream I had the night before, I actually dreamt a co-worker of mine tried to get me fired, and I couldn't help but be sure we were OK the following day because of my dream the night before! crazy!

#2: My weekend plans are pretty typical.. cleaning house, catching up on laundry, and probably hit up the grocery store. blah! hope your weekend is more eventful than what mine will be !

  5. Aww, Kirsten, you've got great style! Not everyone has to take fashion risks so just keep doing what you're doing ;) I can't pull off some things I see on other fashion bloggers too!

Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated like every single year and yet...hasn't won anything! About time he did though D:
Haha, my boyfriend doesn't read much either, but I'm trying to get him to start the Harry Potter series :P
Love love love your shoes - so cute!

  6. So cute! Okay, that outfit is gorgeous, and so are you. I think you need to do whatever you wanna do, girl, and screw all the rest. It's hard not to play the comparison game, and I think every blogger gets swept up in that at some point. But you just gotta do you, and everything will come together. xx, Elizabeth
