Tattoos have been on my mind lately since I'm thinking about getting another, so I thought I'd compile my favorites. Take a look and see if any of them strike your fancy!
1. These flowers are so pretty. I love the use of white space and shading. I'd like to get a tattoo of peonies because they're Indiana's state flower.
2. I love the meaning behind the enso. It symbolizes enlightenment and embodies an important part of Buddhism, where a person is free from thoughts and emotions and is experiencing the present without worrying about the future. Buddhists believe that when someone can exist in the present moment, true creativity can arise.
3. I'm interested in getting a gramophone or a record player because when I was young, my grandmother and I used to dance around the living room to some old vintage records she had in a closet. It's one of my favorite memories.
4. I like the idea of a feather, but I like the idea of a feather quill more, because I'm a writer and... I don't know, feather quills are prettier than just plain old pens.
5. This one kind of goes along with the last tattoo. I'd love to have a tattoo of all my favorite weapons, like a whisk or a spatula, and a pen or a paintbrush.
6. I love owls. What can I say. I'm so set on having an owl tattoo that chances are good it'll be my next one.
7. Reading is one of my favorite things in the world to do. This tattoo seems fitting, and I love the placement.
8. Alice in Wonderland is my favorite story. Getting a tattoo that pays tribute to it would be incredible.
Which of these tattoos is your favorite? Do you have any ideas for future tattoos?

I like #7. I am somewhat old-fashioned, so I dread the day that e-books become standard and traditional paper books disappear!
ReplyDeleteI am considering having my wedding ring tattooed on, since my physical ring is often too tight or semi-loose throughout the day...I don't want to spend money on another physical one and possibly have the same problem again.
Yeah, I'm a little bit old-fashioned too when it comes to books. I'd just rather hold a book in my hands, I guess, though I do read books on my Kindle in a pinch.
DeleteThat's a great, meaningful idea for a tattoo. Let me know if you get it done. :)
Every time I read your blog, I find that we are more and more alike! I love all of them! The peony idea is awesome, partially because that's what I'm doing on my shoulder/arm! haha! The Alice in Wonderland tattoo would be "wonder"ful! It would definitely be unique! I'm excited to see what you choose! :D
ReplyDeleteOoh, well make sure you post pictures on your blog when you get it done! I'm being so indecisive, so hopefully I can decide what I want soon, haha. :)
DeleteLOVE #4!! I don't have any..(YET!) but have one in particular in mind. The hubs says I should wait a few more months to be absolutely 100% sure :) I tend to change my mind at the drop of a dime!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good idea to wait until you're sure! :)
DeleteI love this post! I've been shopping around for an artist to do my sons name on my left side! I love the idea of the quill! I am a writer too, and I never thought to brand it on myself, but I love that idea! What do you write? Other then this blog, obviously! :)

I write fiction mostly for young adults... hoping to get published one day. What about you? :)
DeleteI got the inspiration from my newest tattoo from the 1st pic. There were others as used as well but I loved how realistic these flowers looked.
ReplyDeleteOoh, cool. That tattoo is so pretty and soft. Love it. :)
DeleteI am obsessed with feathers right now and number two is also really fun!
