I like my dogs a lot more than I like most people. There. I've said it. After a long day at work, there's nothing like coming home and seeing your dogs, especially because they are always so excited to see you. So, in honor of my two best canines, I put together a list of why I like my dogs better than you (just kidding... sort of).
1. People like to do that talking thing, a lot. Which is fine, but then there are those times where you don't want to talk to anyone. Dogs are perfect for those times.
2. Dogs love to cuddle and they can cuddle themselves into the smallest nooks and spaces you make with your body without you having to move at all. They are very convenient cuddlers.

4. They bark to let you know when people are coming so if you don't want to see or talk to said people, you have ample time to hide. They might let you know when burglars are coming too, which is also good.
5. They are good models for pictures, even though they don't sit still very long. The problem is that they are so cute, you will always want to take pictures of them and nothing else, which means you will have memory cards full of pictures of your dog, most of which will be blurry action shots of your dog trying to get away from the camera. (Why do dogs hate cameras so much?)
6. My dogs like everything that I cook. They think I am the best cook in the world. They never tell me that they don't like meatballs or that the sausage "tastes funny".
7. I don't know about you, but given the choice between staying in bed with my dogs or getting up and going somewhere, I'm going to choose my dogs every time. Every. Time.
8. My dogs know how to hustle more than most people. If you have a treat in your hand, they will do whatever it takes to get that treat. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

10. My dogs are very good listeners. Every time I talk to them, they always look at me very attentively and sometimes flick their ears or wiggle their nose. Also, they never interrupt and always wait for me to finish talking.
Bonus: They keep your feet warm when it's cold!
Why do you love your dog/cat/pet?

so cute and so true! minus the fact that my dogs don't alert me to visitors - they usually just bark at the wall for no reason or a truck driving by ha. but they are excellent cuddlers and keep me warm all winter :)
ReplyDeleteI've wanted a dog my whole life and I'm determined to get one - you know, once I get out of college and have a real job and things. These photos are so cute!
ReplyDeleteAwe! Look how cute they are! I always tell my husband that if we got a dog, he/she would let us know of people trying to come in and murder us all! It's one of my irrational fears. :p Great reasons why you love your dogs more than people! :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the Little Friday linkup! I totally agree.. I like my dogs better than most people too ;)

I love dogs! My parent's dog is the most loyal and loving dog you could ever have. Think I can find that in a man? haha Can't wait to get my own place and get my beautiful border collie!
ReplyDeleteOh I miss my dogs! your dog is so cute!

These are such great pix of your dogs (probably because of reason #5). Glad to see I'm not the only one who loves my dog more than most humans (:
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! And true! I really want to get my own fluffy little friend, but the apartment I'm moving into charges a ridiculously high rate for pets. It's sad. But your pups are so cute! xx, Elizabeth

I love this post! Your dogs are so adorable. I love reason #3. She always puts a smile on my face when she wiggles her butt and rolls over for a belly rub when I get home. I can have the worst day at work and within seconds everything is okay when I get home. :)
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes yes!! In particular, number 7. LOL Once I late down and I am snuggled with the dogs - there is no getting up.
ReplyDeleteHi! Is the dog in the picture a boxer? I have a boxer named Neo & they look quite similar. I agree with you on every point you made too. lol Thanks for the great read!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty darn perfect. Completely spot on. The amount of people I've said many of these things to and they didn't get it or when I've ranted that anipals are better the people and others look in amazement is unreal. Although it takes another owner to appreciate where you are coming from.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post.
Best wishes, Danielle.
