Weekly Wishes #11
Last Week's Wishes
1. Get started on end-of-the-year projects: I'm not sure it was a good idea to set this goal for myself. At the end of the year, a teacher's work is just never ending, and it seems like more things keep getting tacked on. But you know what? I'm going to get through it, so there's no sense in stressing about it so much now.
This Week's Wishes
1. See the flowers: "Many eyes go through the meadow, but few see the flowers in it." -Ralph Waldo Emerson. This week, I want to see the flowers, or the little things that make this life so beautiful.
2. Start a gratitude journal: I read somewhere that if you write down three things you're thankful for every day for 30 days, you can condition yourself to be a much happier person than you were at the beginning of the thirty days. I'm game to give it a try. Are you?
3. Blog about what's important to me: I've been writing blog posts about things that, honestly, I think you want to read, but it's not sparking a fire in me, and I want to make sure I'm being true to myself and writing about what's important to me. So this week, I'm going to do that.
As always, I'll keep you updated on how I do this week. By the way, weekly wishes is a link-up The Nectar Collective hosts each week where people write about their goals or challenges they want to achieve for the week. Hence... weekly wishes!

Thank you! :)
DeleteI 100% believe that gratitude is the key to happiness. I keep a gratitude journal as well & looking back on it is so much fun! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it helps in keeping me feeling balanced and positive. I'm sure that it will! :)
DeleteI just recently started writing in my gratitude journal and it has really changed my outlook on things! I struggled a lot with #3 when I first started blogging. I finally sat down and thought about what I really wanted out of my blog & what I really wanted to write about and surprisingly people have enjoyed my new posts more than the ones I "thought" people would enjoy! Good luck on your goals this week!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it seems like people want to read posts that YOU want to write rather than posts you think they want to read. I figure I'm just going to do my thing from now on. :) Thanks!
DeleteLove that quote of see the flowers, it's so true! We're so caught up with life and being social that we sometimes forget just to see what's in front of us and appreciate the beauty!
ReplyDeleteAnd good for you that you want to write posts for yourself. I went through a similar phase and in the end I realised, it's ok. This is your little spot and you get to do with it what you want!
Good luck on your wishes!
Yes, and especially since I live in Hawaii, I really need to learn to stop and appreciate the beauty around me. :) Thank you!
DeleteGood luck with your gratitude journal! I think it's such a lovely idea. Personally I take part in 'Things I Love Thursday'. My friends and family love reading my TiLTs =)
ReplyDeleteHopefully I can keep it up. :) That sounds like a great idea! I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI just finished being a research assistant for a study on keeping gratitude journals & it's amazing to see the effect they can have on people. Good luck! (& cheers to blogging more honestly.)
ReplyDeleteI started a gratitude journal but didn't get very far so thanks for the reminder to get back on track! So true about the writing too, good luck with you goals this week and enjoy seeing the flowers!!
ReplyDeleteA gratitude journal is a great idea! Good luck on your goals this week!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is just fantastic! And I love that you are going to be posting about what YOU want to write about. :) Can't wait to see what that all includes!
