Better late than never. I'm not a big fan of resolutions, but I think setting a few achievable goals every so often is a good idea for anyone. Of course, it's a good idea to set up a plan to see those goals through to the end, so I'll have to meditate on these goals a little bit more. And that brings me to my first goal.
Meditate Daily - I recently started meditating because I've been feeling like there's too many thoughts swirling around in my head during the day, and I've found that meditation is a good way to insert a little quiet and calm into my busy life. I'd like to try to meditate daily. I'm starting off at 10 minutes a day but I'm going to try to slowly increase it. I need to figure out a time and place to do it daily.
Exercise More - I started running at the end of last year after not running at all since I was in... high school, I think? Our boxer doesn't have much room to run around at our house, so I started running so both of us could get some exercise. I downloaded the couch to 5K app, so hopefully I'll be able to run that 5K by the end of the year. I also want to start doing some yoga, but I've never really tried it, so I'll have to see if it's for me.
Read 50 books - That's about a book per week. To hold myself accountable, I'm going to try to post a review here weekly.
Adventure is out there! - I live in for Hawaii, for fuck's sake. I should see more of the paradise I live in, and we started this weekend by visiting the volcano. I drive right past a pretty nice beach on my way home from work, so what's stopping me from just pulling over and going every so often. I could definitely use a tan, anyway.
I think that's enough to get me started. I was going to include trying new recipes and crafts, but I do that every week. I just have to keep on that course.
What are your goals for 2014?
